FBX export requires Unity’s official FBX Exporter package. To install it, open the Unity top menu and go to Window > Package Manager, then search for “FBX Exporter” and install the package. Once the package is installed, Mesh Extractor can export selected mesh parts as FBX files. The FBX Exporter package is also required for Skinned Mesh export.

The Selection tab is where you choose the source object and select the mesh faces that will be used for extraction or splitting. Select a MeshRenderer or SkinnedMeshRenderer object in the scene and click Use Selection, or drag and drop the object directly into the Target field. Mesh Extractor will show the target type and the current number of selected faces. Use Clear if you want to remove the current target and start again.

Once a valid target is assigned, select faces directly in the Scene View. These selected faces will be processed from the Extraction tab.
